Week Two Built With Love

Week Two Built With Love

This week was one to remember, filled with lessons about time management and encounters with scammers. The amount of time invested in running a small business is anything but small. One thing that people often overlook is that, as a small business owner, you don’t have employees to assist you.

I can spend all day improving listings, layouts, and the overall feel of the site. I often lose track of time while working on various items. My favorite part is creating what we have to offer, and I will dedicate hours moving from one piece to another. Making sure that all the shipping details and supplies are prepared, the list goes on.

Taking photographs is quite stressful for me; in fact, it’s one of the most challenging aspects of the process. The lighting, how the item is captured, and the editing all contribute to the difficulty. With the right tools and a bit of patience, it can all be accomplished. However, I'm definitely not a photographer; I focus on creating and handcrafting treasures for others to enjoy.

The biggest challenge I face is the overwhelming number of people and bots constantly trying to help me improve my sales, conversion rates, and traffic. Many are looking to place large orders or collaborate, and the list goes on. The daily influx of emails and messages is ridiculous, and honestly, some are very pushy and rude. While I can easily ignore them, it can be hard to sift through it all just to find those who are genuinely interested in my products. Even with filters in place, some of these messages still manage to get through. It's already difficult enough running a small business while maintaining a happy and healthy family life at home. We really don't need the added stress from others who are just trying to get something from us.

Despite the challenges I face, I still love what I do. My business began as a mother-daughter project and has grown into something beautiful. I will forever cherish the time spent with her building this business. I firmly believe that the foundation on which a business is built plays a significant role in shaping its identity and future. Fawn Cove was established with love, compassion, and a bond that will always be the backbone of this company. Thank you, little love, you are my world!
